Gonzales
Locksmith Service
SERVICES: Gonzales Lock offers service and sales of physical security related
hardware including door locks, padlocks, deadbolts and many other kinds of
locks. We also offer specialized keying systems, masterkey systems, and
High-Security locks from MEDECO AND ASSA.
Services are mostly to the Commercial and Residential markets. Some
Automotive work is done depending upon YEAR, MAKE, MODEL. This means
mostly older models, we have no equipment for TRANSPONDER KEYS at this
time. This also DOES NOT include auto un-lockings unless it's part of key
generation on an agreed upon model.
Warranty problems are few and far between. I support everything I sell and that's
why I have to be choosy. Going out to fix a lock (for free) because it was poorly
made is really upsetting! There's a one-year warranty on work (usually re-keying)
if the hardware is of a good make and is being used properly. There is NO
WARRANTY on worn-out hardware, abused hardware or hardware not suited for
the application. There is NO WARRANTY on products such as Schlage with the
collapsible cylinder and also several brands of decorative hardware including
Ashley-Norton and Pella Doors.
AUTOMOTIVE:
Auto work is mostly limited to older models and is usually not available immediately. It all depends
on YEAR, MAKE, MODEL. We have no equipment to cut end-milled ("laser-cut", "sidewinder", "dimple"
style keys or to program transponder keys.

GENERAL MOTORS: GM began integrating electronics with a system known as VATS, Vehicle Anti

Good luck!
WHO MADE WHO ? DOMESTIC VS. FOREIGN;
The line between "domestic" and "foreign" isn't very clear anymore. For the purposes of making keys,
there are mostly American, Euro and Oriental designs. When the new Chevy Canyon and GMC
Colorado models came out, I saw that they had Japanese locks and keys. Later on I found out that
they are in fact, made by Isuzu. The same is true for the Hummer H3. These trucks are also sold
model known as the "Hombre" was sold by Isuzu. Before that, the Chevy LUV was made by Isuzu.
That's just one example, it's very helpful when getting parts, service, and keys.
COMMERCIAL:
Services include re-keying locks, master-key systems and High-Security key and lock systems.
Hardware upgrades, including ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) levers.Stand-alone electronic
locks. Also offered are code-cut keys for cabinets, padlocks and other locks. Specialized cabinet
locks and padlocks are available. They can be keyed to the common KW1 and SC1 keys as well as
restricted and High-Security keys.
RESIDENTIAL:
Residential services are mostly the same as commercial, usually involving re-keying of existing
locks. Many residences upgrade at least the deadbolts for security and key control. Most of the
decorative hardware on the market is overpriced junk. We don't sell decorative hardware unless it's
from MEDECO.
Chrysler Transponder Key with
grey bow.
Some motorcycles including
late model BMW's and
Ducati's are coming equipped
with transponders now.
